The police chief of Haryana SP Varun Singla got transferred and posted as SP Bhiwani, which is around 160 kms away from Nuh, after the Nuh clashes. According to the sources, IPS Narendra Bijarniya has replaced him as full-time Superintendent of Police, Nuh.
As per sources, the official orders for the transfer of IPS Narendra Bijarniya has been given now, but he was rushed to Nuh soon after he received the orders after clashes broke out in the area.
The decision was taken by the home department on Thursday late night amid communal clashes that took place on July 31, Monday and has killed 6 people, including two home guards and a cleric so far. Several shops, stalls and vehicles were gutted in the fire during the clashes by the mob. Notably, the clashes that erupted in Nuh were an attempt to stop a procession by Vishva Hindu Parishad.
The latest update claims that around 159 assailants have been detained in connection with the violence, which has later reached Gurugram. Apart from the Haryana police, 20 companies of central forces have been deployed in Haryana. The police have also informed that around 83 FIRs have been registered in connection with the clashes, which claims that a specific mob was chanting ‘pro-Pakistan’ slogans.
