The whole country is observing Hanuman Jayanti today. On April 6 within a particular distance, Delhi police have given permission to conduct a Shobha Yatra in a particular region of Jahangir Puri in honour of Hanuman Jayanti. According to the sources, Delhi Police earlier denied permission to Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and other groups to take out processions in the national capital of India.

However, permission is been granted and an appeal has been made to take out the Yatra within a certain distance on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti today. According to the official statement by Delhi Police, permission has been given but keeping in view the law-and-order situation.

Delhi Police said, “The route has been prepared. To maintain law and order, permission has been given to take out the Shobha Yatra within a certain distance. The discussion was held with the organising committee and an appeal has been made to take out the Yatra as per law and order.”

According to the information, on April 16 last year, clashes were broken out between two groups in the area on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. This year, keeping the law and order in mind, detailed security arrangements have been put in place in the area of Jahangir Puri for today.

The West Bengal administration has also been ordered by the Home Ministry to submit a report on the violent incident in Howrah, where multiple vehicles were set ablaze and stores were vandalised, as soon as possible.

Kolkata police gives nod for rallies

According to the information, Kolkata police have permitted the six rallies during Hanuman Jayanti, and it is been anticipated that several other processions could be organised without permission.
