Out of five workers who were injured in a lift collapse in Noida Extension on Friday, four more have lost their lives. According to the information they were hospitalised after a service lift crashed at an under-construction society in Noida Extension, succumbed on Saturday, pushing the death toll in the incident to eight. Notably, four workers were killed on the spot-on Friday.

The police informed that the lift was carrying nine workers, when the incident happened and it fell from the 14th floor of an under-construction tower at an Amrapali Dream Valley project site in Noida Extension, also known as Greater Noida (West), on Friday morning. The long-stalled project is being completed by the state-run NBCC.

On the lift collapse in an under-construction site of Amrapali Builders yesterday, Gautam Buddha Nagar DM Manish Kumar Verma said, “The CMS informed us in the morning that four people died out of the five people that were heavily injured in the incident. It is very unfortunate…An FIR has been registered in the case…Investigation is underway, we will take strict actions on any negligence found…”

Meanwhile, DM Gautam Buddha Nagar has assured that a strict action will be taken on any negligence found.

In addition to this, FIR has been registered against 10 named accused, including GMs of Girdhari Lal Constructions Harish Sharma, Rishabh Arora, Lovejeet, Vikas, Aditya Chandra and mechanical in charge Rahul, site in charge Devendra Sharma, Sunil, Shailendra and other officials. FIR has been registered at Bisrakh Police Station u/s 304, 308, 337, 338, 287, 34 and Section 7 of Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2013.
