Another incident related to fresh violence has been reported from Manipur. The police officials on Thursday informed that a fresh violence has erupted in northeastern state of Manipur’s Imphal West. According to the information, two houses were set on fire and several rounds of bullets were fired.

The incident happened in Keithelmanbi in Patsoi police station area at around 10 PM on October 4. Soon after the attack the assailants fled from the spot, which has triggered a new tension in the state. The police officials and fire services doused the fire.

An addition security has been deployed in the area after the incident.

Notably, the ethnic clashes that erupted in the northeastern state on May 3 after a solidarity march was taken out by Meitei community for the demand for Scheduled Tribe states. The violence so far has taken over 150 lives and displaced thousands of people.

Meanwhile, the ban on the internet services was extended by the state government till October 6, 2023.
