In southwest Delhis Jia Sarai area, a 79-year-old woman was found dead inside her house with an injury on her neck, said the police on Tuesday.Elderly woman found dead at her house in DelhiReportedly, on late Sunday around 11 pm, a PCR call was received at Kishangarh police station about the incident, said a senior police officer.Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot immediately and found a woman, identified as Krishna Devi, lying in a pool of blood. The front side of her neck had a deep wound, he said.According to police, one Mamta, who runs a small kitchen for students, used to provide food to Krishna Devi.What happened on SundayOn Sunday, around 09:30 pm, she came to deliver her food but found that the light was switched off. She called a person from the second floor and found her lying in her room, police said.However, there are no signs of robbery or burglary observed so far, the officer said.Then, Devis body was sent for post-mortem to Safdarjung Hospital and the spot was inspected by the crime team and forensics, police said.Following the incident, a case was filed under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC has been registered at Kishangarh police station. Further, investigation is under progress, they added.
