The Noida Police recently arrested three people for their involvement in a high-profile foreign drugs racket that supplied synthetic drugs to rave parties, pubs, and bars. The police arrested Pooja Gupta, a resident of Sector-61, her boyfriend Abhishek Chauhan, and Pulkit Kapoor, a resident of Amrapali Zodiac, Sector-120. The accused used to supply and use foreign synthetic drugs, including MDMA tablets, a highly addictive drug. Police have recovered 289 MDMA tablets from the accused, estimated at Rs 25 lakh. The police are still searching for the gangs kingpin and two other members.Arrests Made After InterrogationThe police team led by Inspector Vijay Kumar, in charge of Kotwali Phase III, arrested two youths, Pulkit Kapoor and Abhishek Chauhan, supplying synthetic drugs near HP Petrol Pump on Sunday night. After questioning both, Abhisheks female friend Pooja Gupta was raided at Kothi in Sector-61. During the investigation, the police found evidence that the drugs were coming through couriers from the Netherlands and Afghanistan, indicating the involvement of an international syndicate.The Role of the Accused in the Foreign Drugs RacketThe police investigation revealed that Suryansh, the kingpin of the racket, used to bring drug packets in a BMW car from foreign countries. Pulkit Kapoor used to bring drugs from Suryansh and deliver them to Pooja and Abhishek. Customers would then purchase the drugs from Pooja and Abhishek for personal use, at raves, or other parties. The police found that MDMA drugs were in high demand in the international market, with high-profile people and people working in multinational companies being the prime customers.The Accused and Their BackgroundsPooja Gupta is a consultant in a multinational company located in Sector-82. Her father is the Chief Engineer of the Railways in Gorakhpur, while her mother is an MBBS doctor. Pooja has a BTech degree from Vellore Engineering College. She lives alone in a multi-storey house in Sector-61, with three domestic helpers to take care of her. Her lover Abhishek used to come and go to her house.Legal Action Taken Against the AccusedThe police filed a report under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and presented the three accused in court, sending them to judicial custody.
