Bhartiya Janata Party is leaving no stones unturned in its efforts of making headlines. The battle of Karnataka has turned into an aggressive mode after Prime Minister Narendra Modi started its Mega roadshow in Bengaluru. As per sources, PM Modi will be addressing 19 public rallies in different districts besides participating in the four roadshows till May 7 as a part of the campaign for the elections scheduled to be held on May 10.

Today, the day started with Modi addressing a rally at Humnabad, Bidar district ahead of the Assembly elections on May 10. Notably, this was the Prime Minister’s first rally in the state since the date of elections was announced by the Election Commission of India on March 29.

While addressing the rally, PM said, “Elections in Karnataka aren’t just meant to form the government here for 5 years, but for making the State Number 1 in the country! These elections will decide the role of Karnataka in realising the dream of a Developed India.”

While addressing the rally in Humnabad, PM asserted that for the overall development of the state, the double-engine government must stay in power. The double engine meant here is the double benefit and double speed. He further said, “To ensure the true development in Karnataka, a continuation of the Double-Engine Govt is a pre-requisite. Only such a Double-Engine and Double-Power Govt can make Karnataka Number 1.” He continued saying that there have been several projects that were pending for decades and the party has completed them in the record time in Karnataka.

He continued by saying that once the homes were constructed in the Bidar district alone, the PM Awas Yojana benefited 20,000 houses. Modi blamed the opposition parties for the delay in submitting the list of farmers who would benefit from the PM Kisan scheme. “We were ready to give money, but they refused to send the list as they feared the money was being sent directly to the farmers’ bank accounts under PM Kisan Yojana,” he added.

Notably, the party decided to conduct a massive roadshow of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly to ensure the victory of the party candidate. This strategy was also utilised in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad.

Following his speech at the rally in Humnabad, Prime Minister Modi spoke at a public gathering in Vijayapura. We have never made caste distinctions when discussing the homes constructed in the district. PM Modi said, “Our government believes in ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’. Our Double-Engine Govt has afforded pucca houses to over 9 lakh families of Karnataka and most of these families belong to Dalits, tribal communities.”

“Congress never cared for Dalits, and has always disrespected and disregarded them. ‘Garibi Hatao’ was merely a slogan of Congress; the actual benefits of its schemes and programmes were accrued to the mediators, its corrupt leaders and not to the poor,” he added further.

PM Modi also lashed out at the opposition parties for abusing him. He noted, “Instead of abusing him, if they could have concentrated on strengthening the party, they would have not seen a such position.”

During his visit to Karnataka, PM Modi also visited Kudachi. While addressing the mega rally, he said, “Karnataka has Tradition as well as Technology; here lies the strengthening of Startups and Culture, together! Karnataka is that wonderful land wherein converges and prospers India’s ancient and modern identity, together.”

Notably, the assembly elections are scheduled to take place on May 10 in Karnataka and the results will be declared on May 13. There is a total of 224 seats in Karnataka and is the seventh-largest legislative assembly.
