The three-day Ayurveda festival began on Saturday at Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. With over 300 Ayurvedacharyas and 1200 students from across India participating, the event was inaugurated by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

During his speech, the Vice President shared his encounter with Baba Ramdev and urged him to create Ayurvedic medicine and yoga to uphold the Parliament’s decorum. 

Importance of Ayurveda during the COVID-19 pandemic

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar highlighted the importance of Ayurveda during the COVID-19 pandemic, stating that it had helped many people. He also praised CM Yogi for maintaining law and order in UP and spoke about the potential for Ayurveda to penetrate the world.

The governance system in India

Jagdeep Dhankhar praised CM Yogi and PM Modi, saying that the governance system in India is focused on the country’s interest. He also mentioned the world’s acceptance of India’s response to any issue and praised the success of the cleanliness mission plan.

Governor’s speech

The Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandi Ben Patel, spoke about the growing popularity of Ayurveda among startups, stating that Ayurveda Survey is based on the philosophy of Bhavantu Sukhinah and India is the birthplace of Ayurveda. She also mentioned that the world is now adopting yoga from India. With the assistance of the Union Ministry of AYUSH and various schemes related to AYUSH, Ayurveda is now taking its place even in young startups.

Demonstration by lawyers

Meanwhile, lawyers demonstrated 2km away from the Ayurveda festival with a demand to set up a High Court bench in Meerut. However, the police stopped them, and they started sloganeering by sitting on the road. SP City and CO reached Civil Line to convince the lawyers, and they were sent to the police line by sitting in a bus. This incident took place at Meerut’s court gate.
