DGMC workers hold protest against bail to Jagdish Tytler in 1984 anti-Sikh riots

The Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi on August 4 granted anticipatory bail to Congress leader Jagdish Tytler, who is allegedly involved in 1984 anti-Sikhs riots.

Now, members of the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DGMC) are holding a protest against the decision in favour of Jagdish Tytler. The bail has been granted by the special Judge Vikas Dhull on furnishing a bond of ₹1 lakh. In addition to this, the court has also imposed certain conditions on Tytler, including that he will not tamper with the evidence or leave the country without its permission.

Meanwhile, BJP leader RP Singh, after Delhi court granted anticipatory bail to Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case said, “Grant of bail in such serious cases is a setback to justice. We will move the High Court.”

It is to be noted here that a chargesheet against Tytler has already been filed by the CBI on May 20. The ACMM court has also taken cognisance of the same and summoned Tytler. according to the chargesheet, Tytler is involved in the death of three Sikhs and setting Gurudwara on fire near Pul Bangesh in Delhi, on November 1, 1984. Soon after the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her bodyguards.
