Delhi-NCR woke up to foggy conditions on Friday morning as the air quality persisted to be in the ‘poor' category, according to the latest data shared by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

The overall AQI in Delhi stood at 396 at 7.00 am today. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Alipur has been recorded at 411 at 7 am. The AQI in the Shadipur area was in the “severe" category at 425, followed by 439 at ITO, 430 in Punjabi Bagh, 406 in RK Puram, 356 at IGI Airport (T3), and 393 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Meanwhile, children from a variety of Delhi-NCR schools gathered in Central Delhi with posters in hand. They expressed their worries about pollution and its effects on them, and they urged the government to find a long-term solution to the issue.

While some children voiced health concerns about things like red eyes, coughing, and congestion in the chest, youngsters from slum regions emphasised how losing school when pollution levels rise affects their education because they cannot afford technology.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered “good", 51 and 100 “satisfactory", 101 and 200 “moderate", 201 and 300 “poor", 301 and 400 “very poor", 401 and 450 “severe", and above 450 “severe-plus".
