The Delhi government has announced a dry day (no alcohol) on Friday (November 24) in observance of Guru Teg Bahadur's martyrdom day.

According to the officials, all liquor outlets, bars and pubs will remain closed today in the national capital, in order to mark the martyrdom day of the ninth Sikh Guru, who played a significant role in the development and establishment of Sikhism.

Moreover, the sale of liquor will also be prohibited in the city on Monday (November 27), which is Guru Nanak Jayanti.

However, Christmas (December 25) will no longer be a dry day, as per the latest order by the Delhi excise department.
