Burari: Delhi's health sector faces a critical examination as allegations of molestation and harassment emerge from the confines of Burari Government Hospital, leading Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj to intervene promptly. A woman, employed on a contractual basis as a housekeeping staff, has bravely come forward with accusations against her manager and three supervisors, claiming they subjected her and two other employees to molestation and harassment.

What was the disturbing incident?

The unsettling incidents unfolded on December 17 and December 19, where the accused not only molested the women but also resorted to threats of termination if unreasonable demands were not met. The severity of the allegations prompted the victim to file a complaint, setting in motion a series of investigations and actions.

Chief secretary orders inquiry into the matter 

Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, reacting to the gravity of the situation, has directed the chief secretary to form an inquiry committee to delve into the matter. Expressing concern over the perceived leniency of the Delhi Police, Bharadwaj emphasized the need for strict action against the accused. The involvement of social media in highlighting the incident has amplified the urgency for a thorough and impartial investigation.

In an official communication to the chief secretary, Minister Bharadwaj outlined the necessity of stringent action against the accused. He stressed the urgency of the situation, urging the chief secretary to ensure that the Delhi Police takes the strictest measures against the culprits. The directive extends to submitting a preliminary report within 24 hours and a comprehensive final report within a week.

Call for accountability
