Delhi has been rocked by a double murder, as two men have been shot dead in the Subhash Park area of north-east Delhi on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

In the homicide incident, which took place at around 2:30 AM, two men were shot within a distance of 300 metres, and the deceased were known to each other, DCP North East Joy Tirkey said.

“Two people were shot within 300 meters. Both the deceased knew each other. We got the information at around 2.30 AM today, when our team reached the spot and started an investigation, we came to know that another person who was also shot dead is also from Subhash Park. Delhi police are now scanning CCTV cameras. We are questioning the eyewitnesses. This is a double murder case,” DCP Tirkey told ANI.

Subhash Park double murder victims were local residents: Police

The victims of the double murder case were identified as Pradeep and Bablu, both of whom were 40 years old and residents of the Subhash Park area. India TV reported that Bablu was first shot in the Subhash Park lane, and then Pradeep was shot on the main road.

After the police reached the scene, they victims were taken to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival.

A case of murder has been registered in the local police station. Delhi Police have confirmed that further investigation is underway regarding the double murder case, and a team has been constituted to work on the case.
