Delhi Public School (DPS), Mathura Road received a bomb threat, this morning. The threat was received in an e-mail. Soon, after getting the information, the premises were evacuated by the school administration.

According to the information, immediately after getting the call Delhi Police rushed to the famous school. An investigation is underway and all the SOPs will be followed, as per an official. Ambulances and fire tenders were seen entering the school. Reportedly, cops have not found anything yet.

Panic ensued at the campus shortly after receiving the information and parents rushed to the school to pick their wards.

As per one of the officials, Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog Squad and SWAT team sanitised the school buildings, and they have not found anything yet.

Previous incidents of the bomb threat

A bomb threat was sent by mail to Indian Public School in the capital barely two weeks before. According to the Delhi Police, bomb threat was sent through an e-mail to the Indian School in Sadiq Nagar. The school has been shut down out of caution. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad has been notified.

It turned out to be a hoax call because, according to DCP Chandan Chaudhary, BDS, BDT, and SWAT units immediately checked the school’s grounds after the building was evacuated. An individual informed the authorities about the email, according to a senior police official.
