Delhi High Court on Wednesday has given the permission to Delhi mayor Shelly Oberoi to travel to Brisbane, Australia to attend the Asia Pacific Cities Summit 2023. The statement from the Delhi High Court came after Central Government Lawyers informed the court that Shelly Oberoi has been granted political clearance for travel.

According to the sources, the Standing Counsel representing the Centre government informed the bench of Subramonium Prasad that she has been granted permission to travel to Australia to attend the summit. In addition to this, while noting the submissions, the bench disposed of the plea and said the grievance no longer survives.

Meanwhile, according to the Mayor’s plea, she had requested permission to participate in the Asia Pacific Cities Summit-2023 in Brisbane City under due process. The summit is scheduled to be held between October 11 to October 13, this year.

Earlier, Delhi mayor stated that this summit can benefit immensely to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. As per sources, the summit will witness the exchange of ideas and achievements between mayors, policymakers, business leaders etc.

In this summit held earlier in 2019, Mayors from all over the world represented more than 9.9 crore people. In such a situation, the agreements of this Mayor Summit can have a direct impact on people’s lives.
