In Delhi’s Netaji Subhash Place area, an 85-year-old woman was allegedly raped and then her lips were sliced with a blade on Friday. The police have apprehended a 28-year-old accused, identified as Akash, in connection to this depressing incident, which was reported by Delhi Commission for Women (DWC) chief Swati Maliwal on her social media, where she also questioned the Delhi Police over the incident.
Reportedly, the incident happened in the wee hours of Friday at 4 am, when the elderly woman was sleeping inside her house.
The accused, Akash then sneaked inside the woman’s house and raped her. Allegedly, he also thrashed the 85-year-old and then cut her lips using a blade.
As per the details, she suffered critical injuries to her private parts and face.
In a notice shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), DWC chief Maliwal asked the Delhi Police to provide her with a copy of the FIR (First Investigation Report), along with other details linked to this case.
Further investigations are underway into this shocking incident.
