The Air Quality Index (AQI) Delhi has seen a slight improvement and reached in the moderate category on Monday with the minimum temperature at 21.1 degrees Celsius.According to the weather update for the day, the sky is little cloudy and light rains are expected today, with the maximum temperature expected to settle at 32 degrees Celsius.The relative humidity at 8.30 am stood at 67%. The AQI at 9 am stood at 195.Apart from Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan are also likely to get drizzle, after which temperature will see a dip. Meanwhile, rainfall is expected in parts of Jammu and Kashmir.Air Quality IndexAir Quality Index is a tool for effective communication of air quality status to people in terms that are easy to understand. There are six AQI categories, namely Good + Satisfactory, Moderately polluted, Poor, Very Poor, and Severe. Each of these categories is decided based on ambient concentration values of air pollutants and their likely health impacts (known as health breakpoints).According to the AQI scale, the air quality check between 0 and 50 are considered “good”, 51 and 100 are “satisfactory”, 101 and 200 are “moderate”, 201 and 300 are “poor”, 301 and 400 are “very poor”, and 401 and 450 are “severe” and “severe+” when AQI exceeds 450.
