Delhi High Court rejected Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, Manish Sisodia’s bail request on Monday (July 03) in the liquor policy case.

Delhi HC rejected Sisodia’s bail request

The High Court said that Manish Sisodia is “not entitled to bail at this stage.”

Apart from Sisodia’s bail request, Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma has also dismissed the bail plea of Abhishek Boinpally, Benoy Babu, and Vijay Nair, who are co-accused in the money laundering case lodged by the ED (Enforcement Directorate), the agency which investigates financial crimes.

When was Manish Sisodia arrested?

On February 26, the former deputy chief minister, Sisodia was first sentenced by the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation), just over six months after an FIR (First Investigation Report) was filed in the matter. Further, the ED arrested the AAP leader in the same case on March 09, after hours of questioning at Tihar Jail.

The Delhi excise policy was enforced by the AAP government in November 2021. It was scrapped at the end of September 2022 due to the allegations of corruption.

The AAP leader, Manish Sisodia is an accused in the cases registered by both the CBI and ED in this matter.
