Ahead of the G20 Summit in the national capital, the Delhi Traffic Police has been conducting rehearsals since yesterday (August 26) to ensure the arrangements are in place for the multi-nation event that will be held from September 8–10.

Official statements


In a tweet, Delhi Traffic Police issued a travel advisory for today amid the ongoing rehearsals. “In view of the G20 Summit rehearsals to be held on August 26 and 27, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., traffic regulations will be effective on various roads. Kindly follow the advisory,” it said on X.

During the three-day summit in Delhi, the residents are instructed to abide by the travel advisory issued by the Traffic Police.
According to the authorities, the Lutyens’ Zone of New Delhi would only allow residents and those employed in critical service positions to enter the Summit after presenting identification for security concerns. It’s been said that there will be strict regulations in other areas.

Delhi halts for G20

Amid the G20 Summit, over 150 flights were canceled for 8-10 September to ensure security.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Friday issued a circular stating that it will remain closed on September 8.

In a statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “From September 5 to September 15, there will be a lot of inconveniences, and I apologise for that in advance. These are our guests, traffic rules will be changed, you will be stopped from going to several places, but some things are necessary”.
