With effect from April 1, 2023, Petroleum and oil marketing companies have decreased the cost of commercial Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders by Rs 91.50. The commercial cylinder will cost Rs 2,028 in New Delhi, the Capital of India. However, no changes have been made to the domestic LPG cylinder. The prices of the LPG cylinder keep on fluctuating. This year, the prices have been changed twice. On March 1, Petroleum and oil marketing companies hiked the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 350.50 per unit and domestic LPG cylinders by Rs 50 per unit. Simultaneously, on January 1, prices of the commercial cylinder were increased by Rs 25 per unit.Reportedly, on September 1 last year, the prices of commercial cylinders were reduced by Rs 91.50 per unit. And, on August 1, 2022, the prices of the commercial LPG cylinders were reduced by Rs 36 per unit and before that on July 6, the rate was cut by Rs 8.5 per unit for the commercial LPG cylinder.The reduction in the rates of the commercial can be seen, but there is no change in the rates of the domestic LPG cylinder. The rates for the domestic cylinder which weighs 14.2 kg remains the same as last month. The prices for domestic LPG cylinders were raised by Rs 50 last month by the government. The price of the non-subsidised LPG cylinder in Delhi today is Rs 1,103. It is also known as a clean fuel, which is why it is much preferable.Domestic LPG cylinders weighing 14.2 kg cost Rs 860 per unit in Delhi. Up to 12 LPG cylinders may be purchased at discounted prices by Indian homes each year. Consumers who exceed the predetermined annual limit of 12 LPG cylinders will be taxed at a non-subsidized rate beginning with the 13th cylinder. If the consumer purchases a cylinder that is not subject to government subsidies, they are not qualified to receive any such subsidies from the Indian government.
