Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, will meet with Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, in Lucknow on Wednesday as the AAP tries to rally opposition to the Centre’s legislation on control of services in the capital.

Kejriwal will be accompanied by Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab.

“To seek support for the rights of the people of Delhi against the illegal law of the Central government, Bhagwant Mann and I will see Akhilesh Yadav ji in Lucknow tomorrow,” Kejriwal tweeted on Tuesday.

To block the Centre’s attempt to replace the ordinance through a Bill when it is introduced in Parliament, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener has been contacting leaders of non-BJP parties.

Sanjay Singh, an AAP Rajya Sabha member, is also set to join Kejriwal at the meeting, an SP leader said without going into further detail about the meeting’s topic.

The AAP government cited to the Centre’s ordinance, which was promulgated on May 19 and established a body to supervise the transfer and posting of Group-A officers in Delhi, as a deception in light of the top court’s decision regarding control of services.

Notably, all the transfers and posting of the officers of the Delhi government were under the control of LG before the verdict of the Supreme Court on May 11.

It is to be noted here that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, along with the chief minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann and senior AAP leader Raghav Chadha has already met the top leaders of the opposition parties, which includes, Mamata Banerjee, Uddhav Thackery, Nitish Kumar, MK Stalin, Sharad Pawar.
