Delhi official raped minor at home, his wife gave her abortion pills

A depressing incident happened in the national capital, where a senior official in the Delhi government’s Women and Child Department was booked under child abuse for allegedly raping his friend’s 14-year-old daughter for several months.

Delhi Police files FIR against senior official, his wife

Delhi Police has lodged an FIR against the accused senior official under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the stringent POCSO Act to check child abuse cases. Further, the official’s wife has also been charged for allegedly aiding him in this child abuse case.

The girl, reportedly in Class 12, lost her father in 2020 after which the accused brought her to his house.

What happened to minor at accused’s house?

Allegedly, the accused raped her several times between 2020 and 2021. When the teen got pregnant, he confided to his wife. In a complaint raised by the minor girl, she told the police that the official’s wife then asked their son to get medicines to get rid of the girl’s pregnancy at home.

Currently, the minor is under treatment and her statement is yet to be recorded before a magistrate.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police has initiated a probe into serious allegations against the top official.
