Delhi: Auto-rickshaw driver arrested for using foot-over-bridge to drive

An auto-driver has been arrested for driving his three-wheeler on a foot over bridge to escape from the traffic jam in New Delhi’s Hamdard Nagar. According to the police officials, soon after the incident got surfaced on internet through social media, Delhi Police seized the auto and arrested the 25-year-old auto driver.

As per investigation, the auto was stuck in the traffic jam below the foot over bridge near Hamdard Nagar Red light at Sangam Vihar circle. The auto driver however, took a steep turn and got on a footpath and got into stairs of foot over bridge.

One of the pedestrians recorded the driver’s act. Along with the auto driver, police have also arrested the man who assisted the driver and got into auto later. He has been identified as Amit, a resident of Sangam Vihar. The driver has been arrested for putting both his and other lives at risk while driving.
