A 25-year-old medical practitioner of Safdarjung Hospital from Mumbai was discovered lifeless in his Delhi room on Thursday in a suspected suicide case.
According to police statements, authorities received a call around 3:55 PM alerting them of the alleged suicide in Delhi's Gautam Nagar accommodation, on December 8, 2023.
The deceased has been identified as Jay Dipesh Savla, who was found hanging from the ceiling in his room. A suicide note recovered from the scene reportedly detailed the victim's struggles with depression and ongoing treatment for the last two years.
To investigate the alleged suicide case, a crime team from the south district was also summoned on-site.
Forensic teams were brought in to examine and document the site. The body was then transported to AIIMS Hospital where doctors confirmed death.
The Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) tweeted a video posted by Savla from December 2022, mourning the early death of the young doctor.

On Friday, investigating officers recorded statements from the deceased’s father and other relatives over the phone.
An autopsy was conducted before the body was returned to the family, police said.
