The top committee of the government has given the green signal to start work on 51 projects costing Rs 1494 crore in preparation for Mahakumbh-2025. The first Mahakumbh of Amritkal is expected to attract a massive influx of tourists to Prayagraj. The Chief Secretary, Durgashankar Mishra, has inspired the maximum number of district residents to engage in the community programs associated with the event.Consultancy for Traffic Plan to be HiredDuring the review of the proposed works of Mahakumbh, the Chief Secretary directed the officers to hire a consultancy for the traffic plan and prepare an action plan assessing the roads that may face traffic-related problems in the future. He also instructed the officers to issue a mandate for all works by March 15 to ensure the timely release of the budget.Roadside Plantation and Parking to be DevelopedThe Chief Secretary instructed the officers to develop roadside plantations and parking at vacant places during the construction of roads. Municipal Commissioner, Chandra Mohan Garg, was asked to use the tiles made from the construction and demolition waste plant to develop all these roads.Project Management Unit to be FormedThe Chief Secretary directed the Kumbh Mela Adhikari to form a Project Management Unit for two years for the implementation of the works of Mahakumbh to ensure the availability of sufficient manpower.Triveni Pushpa-Akshayavat to be RejuvenatedRenovation and beautification of Triveni Pushp are to be done with Rs 22.50 crore. The Chief Secretary inspected Triveni Pushpa and Akshayvat included in the Mahakumbh projects and discussed the proposal and the present form of this project with the officers.The preparations for Mahakumbh-2025 are in full swing, with 51 projects worth Rs 1494 crore being given the green signal by the top committee of the government. The development of roadside plantations and parking, traffic plan assessment and formation of a Project Management Unit are some steps being taken to ensure the smooth functioning of the event. The rejuvenation of Triveni Pushpa-Akshayavat, with a budget of Rs 22.50 crore, is another significant government-approved project.
