A fresh encounter broke out between the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Naxals, killing one officer and a constable injured in Chhattisgarh’s Left Wing Extremism-affected Sukma district on Sunday.
This firing incident happened on Sunday morning in the Jagargunda area when a team of the CRPF's 165th battalion was out on an anti-Naxal operation.

According to the officials, the anti-Naxal operation was launched at around 7 am from Bedre camp towards Ursangal village in the Jagargunda area.
An encounter broke out between CRPF and Maoists during the operation, in which Sub-Inspecter Sudhakar Reddy was killed while Constable Ramu sustained bullet injuries.
Following this, Ramy was immediately airlifted to a hospital for primary treatment.
Meanwhile, four suspects were detained by the police from a nearby area and a joint operation was launched by teams of the CRPF's COBRA unit, and the local police.
