Chhattisgarh government on Friday approved the restoration of the old pension scheme for the officers and employees of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies after January 1, 2004.

The decision was taken in the presence of the chief minister Bhupesh Singh Baghel at his residence in the cabinet meeting. In addition to this, there are other important decisions that were taken by the cabinet during the meeting.

The cabinet also decided to establish a State Mahua Board, which will focus on the collection, value addition, processing, and utilisation of Mahua. Mahua is a major forest produce collected by tribals which acts as a significant resource for forest-dwelling communities in the state. Apart from this, the board also took the decision to get into the production of biodiesel or ethanol production units through Mahua.

The council of ministers also proposed the amendments in the Chhattisgarh Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023 which got approved.
