Chain snatcher injured in encounter with Police in UP’s Mathura, aide arrested

One miscreant involved in an alleged chain-snatching attempt with a woman was injured after an encounter with police broke out on Monday in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura. According to the police officials, the accused has been identified as Gopal Goswami. Apart from him, the police have also arrested another accused named Manish in connection with the case.

“A criminal named Gopal Goswami was injured. He was shot in the leg. His associate Manish has been arrested. They were running away after a chain-snatching attempt. More than 15 cases in the past have been registered against him,” Senior Superintendent of Police Shailesh Kumar Pandey said.
