The upcoming G20 summit, a meeting of the world’s largest economies, is set to take place in Noida in November 2023. As the city prepares to host this global event, the Noida Authority responsible for the city’s development has begun making necessary preparations.

Preparations for G20 summit in Noida

The CEO of Noida Authority, Ritu Maheshwari, held a review meeting with officials to discuss various aspects of the preparations, including pending cases of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), the Swachh Survekshan-2023, development of vendors and new sectors, and the preparations for the upcoming G-20.

During the meeting, Maheshwari instructed officers from the Civil Department to promptly carry out works requested by the Authority by the Phonerwa and RWAs. It will take signatures and photographs from RWA and Phonerwa to ensure accountability for these works.

Crackdown on illegal vendors and cleanliness guidelines

In addition, the Authority has decided to crack down on illegal vendors in the vendor zone, ensuring that no vendor without a license can sit in the area. It will promptly remove any illegally installed vendors in the zone.

Maheshwari also issued several guidelines for the upcoming G20 to the Assistant Chief Executive Officers (ACEOs), Manvendra Singh, Prabhash Kumar, and Satish Pal. She stressed the importance of inspecting posters, signage, painting, sculpture, urinals, abandoned dustbins, and signage boards across the city regarding G20. The Authority ensures the city is clean and visually appealing for the visiting delegates and media.

The CEO has set a deadline of March 20 for the repair work of potholes, grills, footpaths, and drones in the central verge to be completed. The Work Circle and Garden Department will do the work of painting the underpass. At the same time, the Public Health Department officials will visit the area daily in the morning and afternoon to address any complaints related to sewer overflow in sectors.

The sweepers have been instructed to complete their tasks by noon, and garbage must not be visible anywhere. The Authority will also ensure the continuous cleaning of all drains in the area.

Conclusion

Noida Authority is taking various measures, including cracking down on illegal vendors and ensuring cleanliness, to prepare for the upcoming G20 summit in November 2023. This will put Noida on the world stage, significantly impacting the city’s reputation.
