NCERT Curriculum Committee member Prof. Vasant Shinde recently visited Varanasi and admired the city’s rich history. He revealed that the history of Varanasi would be included in the CBSE curriculum, and students would study Babhniyan, an important archaeological site in Rajatalab of the Arazi line development block.

Exciting discoveries in Varanasi’s ancient history

Prof. Shinde shared that several significant pieces of evidence have been uncovered in Babhniyan, dating back to the Sunga Kushan period, around 2200 years ago. Among these were collective hearths used for feasts and a mound of soil deposits discovered during floods. Additionally, archaeologists found a baked clay wheel, toy bullock cart wheels, and reed marks.

History of being a compulsory subject from class 6th to 12th

The history study will become compulsory for students from 6th to 12th, with the syllabus being scientifically developed. The NCERT syllabus committee has prepared and submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Education. This will ensure that discoveries and surveys, including those in Rakhigarhi in Haryana, will be included in the curriculum.

Revamped syllabus to be implemented by 2026

The current history books are being rewritten, and it is expected to take three years to prepare them. The new syllabus will be implemented by 2026, incorporating data from every region, including new archaeological discoveries. The revamped syllabus aims to enable the younger generation to appreciate India’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

Aryans were not invaders

The tragic incident acts as a reminder of the importance of maintaining peace and harmony within families and communities. Disputes should be addressed through dialogue and mediation rather than resorting to violence, which can have devastating consequences.

Conclusion

The postmortem report is expected to shed more light on the cause of death. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the need for effective conflict resolution mechanisms within families to prevent such tragedies from occurring. It also highlights the increasing need of mental health awareness and access to resources for individuals struggling with addiction and other mental health issues. As the investigation continues, the community remains in mourning for the loss of Rajnath Yadav, a respected member whose life was tragically cut short by an act of violence in a family dispute.
