Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha submits the mobile phones that she has used so far to ED in New Delhi as she enters the third round of questioning in the Delhi Excise case. Before submitting the mobile phones to Enforcement Directorate (ED), Kavitha displayed the mobile phones in front of the media persons before entering the ED office for the questioning on the second day of the case.

Kavitha also submitted a letter to the ED officials saying, “In continuance and furtherance of my repeated appearances before you and rendering all due assistance and cooperation and despite the actions of the agency being ex-facie malafide.” “These phones are submitted without my prejudice to my rights and contentions and larger contention whether a women’s phone can be intruded, in the teeth of her right to privacy.” Kavitha also claimed that she was earlier questioned regarding the alleged destruction of the mobile phones she used during the Delhi excise fraud by the investigators.

The 44-year-old BRS leader K Kavitha alleged that “as it may, the deliberate leakage of the false accusation to the public has led to a political slugfest, wherein my political advisories have been flaunting the accusations, accusing me of destroying the so-called evidence, and indulging in causing great harm to my reputation, and attempting to defame me, my political party as well as to lower my image in the eyes of the Public at large.”

KCR’s daughter Kavitha was first questioned n March 11 in the case for around nine hours and she was again summoned on March 16 for the interrogation. Kavitha had skipped the deposition last week because she planned to appeal the ED’s move in the matter to the Supreme Court. After rejecting her accusations, the federal investigation agency called her on March 20 for a deposition. Her petition will be heard by the Supreme Court on March 24. Apart from those of a few other people connected in the case, Kavitha is believed to have been presented with the statements given on March 11 by Hyderabad-based businessman Arun Ramchandran Pillai, an arrested suspect in the case who is supposedly close with her.

Kavitha was grilled by ED for almost 10 hours on Monday. She also sought to know from the ED officials how they could conclude that she was involved in the Delhi Excise Policy case, but did not receive any reply from the officials. According to the reports, initially, she was declining to participate in the interrogation at the ED office and was connecting with them via e-mails. But later on, she agreed she changed her mind and joined the investigation.

Kavitha also appealed to the officials of the central agencies to arrange for the audio and video recordings of the entire questioning process. Despite her several requests, they failed to do that and also did not share any evidence for her involvement in the case. BRS leader also claimed that as a part of harassment apparently due to political pressures she was made o sit alone in a room. According to the sources, Kavitha kept on asking the ED officials whether they found any evidence on the phones seized from her. She also asked them why they are in hurry of making any judgment and asking questions, despite a case filed by her pending for hearing on March 24.

Kavitha was earlier interrogated at her residence in Hyderabad. The ED has made 12 arrests, including former deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, in the case.
