Brazilian legendary footballer Ronaldinho Gaúcho inaugurated the Sreebhumi Durga Puja Pandal on Monday during his two-day visit to West Bengal.

The Brazilian footballer received a warm welcome from fans at the Puja pandal in Kolkata. This is the first visit to the football-crazy city that has hosted many football legends of the world sport, including Pele, Diego Maradona, and Lionel Messi.

The 2002 World Cup winner also played football with the Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) leader Sujit Bose.

Ronaldinho offered prayers at the Puja Pandal today after inaugurating it. The Brazilian footballer has landed in the city which is all set for the West Bengal’s biggest festival.

Ronaldinho’s R10 Academy

Earlier in the day, he inaugurated the ‘Ronaldinho’s R10 Academy’ in Kolkata where his fans thronged to get a glimpse of the 2002 World Cup winner.

The sporting legend is expected to participate in several programs and is also likely to meet the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee.

Earlier this month, Ronaldinho stated that he would be visiting the Sree Bhumi Sporting Club during his visit to the state. He stated in his Facebook post.

Ronaldinho has won three Ballon d’Ors and won FIFA World Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005. He also won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002 and the Champions League with Barcelona in 2006.
