Taking it to Twitter, PMO shared, “Deeply saddened by the tragic mishap at a cracker factory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, resulting in the loss of precious lives. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims during this extremely difficult time. May the injured recover soon. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM @narendramodi”
Eight people have been killed and several others have sustained injuries after a blast in a firecrackers factory in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district on Saturday morning.
According to the Superintendent of Police Saroj Kumar Thakore, the took place inside the firecracker factory owned by a person names Ravi from the Pazhayapettai area. Soon after the department received the information they rushed to the spot and carried out the rescue operation. However, the reason for the blast is yet to be ascertained.
Thakore said, “As many as eight people have been declared dead and the few others injured have been taken to the nearest government hospital for treatment,” he said.
Further details in connection with the incident are awaited.
It is to be noted here that on Tuesday an explosion took place at a factory, in which two people have lost life at Sivakasi city in Virudhunagar district.
