After the humiliating pee-gate incident took place in Madhya Pradeshs Sidhi district, where a man, identified as Pravesh Shukla allegedly urinated on a tribal on camera, the district general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tendered his resignation and slammed the local MLA.Earlier this week, the viral of the distressing incident surfaced all over the internet, which caused national outrage and political controversy, promoting MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to call the victim home and washing his feet as an act of atonement. However, the opposition, especially Congress called it a mere drama and took a swipe at the ruling government.Sidhi general secretary of BJP resigns after slamming local MLASpeaking to the news agency PTI on a phone call, Sidhi BJP general secretary Vivek Kol, an MBA who had unsuccessfully contested the last MP Assembly polls from the Churhat seat as a BSP candidate, said, “My resignation is final. I e-mailed it to MP BJP chief VD Sharma two days ago. I have posted it in the BJPs office-bearers Whatsapp group. The party has not asked me to take back my resignation.”In his letter, the BJP leader said that he had been hurt by the acts of local BJP MLA Kedarnath Shukla, who denied his ties with the accused, over the past two years, including alleged encroachment of tribal land and other atrocities in the district.He also claimed that now Shuklas alleged representative has urinated on a tribal man, which distressed him.BJP has No links with the accused Since the viral of the incident went viral on the internet, the accused pictures with the BJP MLA, Kedarnath Shukla surfaced, which ignited a political conversation. The accused is said to be associated with the ruling BJP government and the local party MLA, while he was being interrogated by the police on Tuesday night. However, the party has refuted all the links with him.BJP MP Kedarnath Shukla said that the accused wasnt associated with the BJP while condemning the latters act.In a statement, he said, “Pravesh Shukla, the person who was caught urinating on a tribals face, wasnt associated with the BJP.”Also, the ruling party has maintained no links with the accused. Mr Kol also made other allegations about Mr Shukla in the letter.
