A labourer from Bihar has been tonsured and beaten for raping and impregnating a woman in Uttarakhand’s Tehri district. According to the police officials, the accused has been identified as Dil Jafar, who hailed from Bihar’s Kishangarh district.

The police officials have confirmed that the accused has been sent into 14-day police custody. The incident has created a sense of insecurity among people and other migrant labourers.

However, the Superintendent of the area has refused the reports about insecurity among labourers. According to him situation is under control and police have initiated an investigation in the case. He also assured that no one will be allowed to take law and order in their hands.
