In a crucial Congress meeting held on Monday at party chief Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence in New Delhi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his erstwhile deputy Sachin Pilot decided to fight the high-stakes state Assembly elections together.

The Gehlot and Pilot finally met in person in front of the top party leadership after a protracted absence. Months before the elections, a meeting was convened to resolve the infighting inside the Rajasthan Congress.

According to the information, Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal, and party leader from Rajasthan Jitendra Singh all took part in the key meeting, which lasted for more than four hours.

The meeting was shortly after Pilot issued a threat to start a statewide agitation if three requests he made of the state government were not honoured by the end of this month.

Meanwhile, KC Venugopal said after the meeting, “We have decided to fight elections unitedly. Definitely, we will win the elections in Rajasthan. Both Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot have unanimously agreed with the proposal.”

Notably, Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot have been engaged in the power tussle since 2020.

Additionally, on May 30, a group led by Mallikarjun Kharge will meet with President Droupadi Murmu to discuss the state of the nation.
