As assembly elections are due this year, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is all set to kick off the party’s campaign in Madhya Pradesh. According to the inputs the rally will be held at BHEL Dussehra Maidan in the capital of Madhya Pradesh.

With the rally, Kejriwal is expected to show of strength of the Aam Aadmi Party, which is trying to gain a toehold in the Madhya Pradesh politics traditionally dominated by the Bhartiya Janata Party and the Congress.

According to the official statement it is said that Kejriwal is expected to make some big announcements at the rally. Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann will be joining Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the rally, organisers said.

Big announcements are expected by Arvind Kejriwal

In a statement issued by a party official “Kejriwal is expected to make some big announcements. We are giving very cheap electricity in Delhi, and free quality education and health facilities to the poor unlike what is happening in MP. Here power and health facilities are very costly, We have worked hard to ensure one lakh people across MP attend the rally. After this, we are going to hold big rallies in all the divisional headquarters in the state. AAP has enrolled more than five lakh members since a drive was launched by organisation general secretary Sandeep Pathak on February 4.”

In a recent announcement by AAP, it would contest all 230 assembly seats in MP, which claimed to have received 6.3 percent of the vote share in the urban local body elections held in July-August of last year, is encouraged by its performance. The party managed to gain the position of mayor in Singrauli, located in the state’s Vindh area, after fielding 1,500 candidates for local body elections.

With a split Assembly following the 2018 elections in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress emerged as the largest party with 114 seats in the 230-member House. 109 seats went to the BJP. A coalition government was established by the Congress under Kamal Nath, but it was toppled in March 2020 as a result of certain MLAs joining the BJP in support of Jyotiraditya Scindia. Shivraj Singh Chouhan was able to retake the position of chief minister as a result.

Arvind Kejriwal’s rally in Rajasthan

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi and the national convenor of the AAP, claimed on Monday that the opposition parties have been looting the state in turn for years and that they are battling for power rather than for the people. The AAP national convenor urged people to elect his “honest party” to power in the state when elections are held later this year because the Congress had ruled Rajasthan for 48 years and the BJP for 18 years. While leading a “Tiranga Yatra” from Sanganeri Gate to Ajmeri Gate, Kejriwal spoke to a crowd. Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, was with him.

“The opposition parties have alternately worked to loot the state. This time, vote for an honest party and bring the AAP to power. We do not know politics but we know how to build good schools, construct roads, provide water, free electricity and health facilities,” Kejriwal told the gathering.

“Going by this trend, this time it is the BJP’s turn. They will come and say bring the double-engine government to power. This is their code word for double corruption. I have seen it in Karnataka where corruption has doubled,” he said. Before addressing the rally in Rajasthan, Kejriwal said the AAP is working to strengthen its organisation and working day and night to win the upcoming assembly elections.
