After months of terror and tensions, the ban on the internet services got lifted on September 23 and just a couple of days later the photos of two missing students surfaced online. The two students, from Meitei community who went missing on July 6, reportedly have been killed, according to the sources.

As per sources, this is one of the 11 cases of the violence in the northeastern state which is under investigation by Central Bureau of Investigation. However, the bodies of two are yet to be found.

The photos that surfaced on internet show the two students from the Meitei community – Hijam Linthoingambi, 17, and Phijam Hemjit, 20, who seems to be sitting in some compound of an armed group. The picture shows two bodies lying on the ground. Two gunned men are clearly visible in the pic.

This new incident has initiated an outrage against people of the state and many are questioning what police has been doing to crack down on them.

As per sources, the investigation teams are planning to use advance cyber forensic tools to make the pictures much clearer, so they can be identified.
