Basharat Qayoom, the deputy commissioner of Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir was on a visit to the Yatra Transit camp on Wednesday. He conducted a thorough inventory of the arrangements and amenities to be provided for pilgrims during the Amarnath yatra in 2023 at the FCI Godown Mir Bazaar and the Walnut Factory Qazigund.

During the visit, the deputy commissioner gave the concerned officers instructions to develop plans to increase the Mir Bazaar Transit Camp’s ability to house additional pilgrims. Additionally, he instructed the official to make sure that there were enough high-quality restrooms and parking spaces available in each location, along with prompt road repair.

According to the statement, “He asked the concerned R&B officers to install an effective drainage system in addition to repairing the paths” to ensure correct water drainage.

Additionally, the deputy commissioner urged the cops to make sure that the pilgrims would have access to all facilities promised. In addition to providing drinking water to the transit camps, he further instructed SE Hydraulic to maintain the proper supply of water to public restrooms, cafés, and other locations. Additionally, he gave the SE KPDCL instructions to guarantee a constant flow of electricity. To make sure the transit camps were clean and well-kept.

Thereafter, the deputy commissioner visited the Qazigund tehsil office and briefly reviewed its functioning besides taking stock of the ongoing works of the tehsil office Qazigund.

Amarnath Yatra 2023 registration and start date

Notably, the Amarnath Yatra in 2023 will commence on June 30 and will conclude on August 11. According to the official website, a person needs to provide the complete documents for the registration. People who are interested to visit the official website of the Amarnath Yatra Shrine board for the registrations. The registration began on April 11 to April 30 for the 2023 yatra. A person needs to provide a duly signed copy of the registration form, passport-size photographs, and a compulsory health certificate during the registration.

Demand for Jammu Pilgrim Tourism Circuit

Devender Singh Rana, a senior BJP official, on Saturday, demanded that a list of historic places, shrines, and old temples be compiled to create a plan for creating the Jammu Pilgrim Tourism Circuit for believers seeking spiritual fulfilment.

Rana stated at a gathering that Jammu’s identity as the city of temples is not only to be preserved but promoted in a big way by raising state-of-the-art infrastructure and making the best use of technology to showcase the rich heritage on a larger canvas. He argued that action will speak louder than symbols and recommended a proactive strategy for utilising the enormous pilgrim tourist potential of the Jammu region.

Amit Shah to review JK security conditions

Amit Shah, the union minister, will also assess the security situation in Jammu & Kashmir today. The central government’s security personnel and the union territory administration would reportedly give him a thorough presentation on the current law and order and situation. The meeting would be attended by senior officials including the Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, and Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla. In the past three years, there have been a number of targeted killings in Jammu & Kashmir. As many as 118 people, including five Kashmiri Pandits and 16 other Hindus and Sikhs, had been slain in J-K between the repeal of Article 370 in 2019 and July 2022, according to information provided to Parliament by the administration.
