After severe waterlogging in many areas of Hyderabad, the state administration on Monday declared holiday for schools and colleges. In addition to this, India Meteorological Department has also issued yellow alert for the next three days.

Meanwhile, taking it to official social media handle, Hyderabad district collector Anudeep Durishetty, have urged the people stay indoors until it is emergency. A team of over 3,000 workers have also been deployed on the field for the clearing of waterlogging.

With this, alert has been issued for Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Bengal also. Senior Scientist of IMD Bhubaneswar Uma Shankar Das said, “Widespread rainfall can occur in the next 48 hrs…Thunderstorms and lightning are also expected to occur in parts of North Odisha…Five districts are warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall: Dhenkanal, Angul, Kalahandi, Boudh, and Kandhamal…People have been warned to take safe shelter during lightning and thunderstorms…People should stay away from trees and water bodies…”
