A 36-year-old man who was working as senior manager at Amazon was shot dead in Northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura after five men opened unprovoked fire.

According to the police officials, five others including a street vender has been injured in the incident. DCP (Northeast) Joy Tirkey said their department received a PCR call at 11.53 pm on August 29 about the firing from Bhajanpura after which a police team rushed to the spot.

The deceased has been found as Harpreet Gill, who worked as a senior manager at Amazon. He was declared dead after reaching the hospital. As per details, Gill and one of his friends were travelling on a bike when unknown assailants attacked them.

While talking to ANI, the deceased’s uncle said, “He was shot in his head. I don’t know why did this happen. He had no enmity with anyone. I have requested the Police to check the CCTV visuals…”

Meanwhile, police officials are scanning the CCTV footage to identify the accused who are currently absconding. A case of murder has been registered and the investigation has been initiated.
