People residing in Delhi-NCR regions woke up to a sky wrapped up in grey. Many parts of Delhi and around are covered in dust and the Air Quality Index (AQI) was seen plummeting touching the ‘hazardous’ category.

The overall AQI recorded hovered around 134, that is ‘moderate’ category. The System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) stated that dust-raising strong winds are being seen in and around Delhi since early morning. At the IGI Airport, the visibility was marked up to 1100 meters.

According to experts, the dust storm around Delhi NCR (National Capital Region) has been caused due to cyclonic circulation prevailing over Rajasthan and surrounding areas. This cyclonic circulation has resulted in the dust storms and rainfall activities around North Rajasthan and the impact of the same can be seen in and Delhi, Haryana and some parts of Punjab.
