After family disapproves of marriage, Jaipur man kills lover and attempts suicide later

A shocking incident happened in Rajasthan’s Jaipur, when a young man slit his own throat after killing his lover yesterday (October 01). Reportedly, the couple, identified as Kishan and Jyoti, had been facing distress due to their families’ disapproval of their relationship.

The duo met at a secluded spot in the Loha Mandi area on Monday, where Kishan allegedly killed Jyoti before attempting suicide by slashing his throat with a sharp-edged weapon.

The Harmada police found both victims in a pool of blood at the spot of the incident.

According to the police, the woman succumbed to her injuries, while Kishan was immediately rushed to the Sawai Man Singh (SMS) hospital in a critical condition. He is currently under treatment.

Briefing about the incident, Circle Inspector Himmat Singh said, “Both were involved in a love affair for a long time. Both wanted to get married but their families did not agree.”

Further, investigation is still underway into this case, said Singh.
