After a major reshuffling in Rajasthan, seven IAS officers along with 30 IPS officers have been transferred. The move has been taken after a few days when cash worth Rs 2 crore and gold worth Rs 1 crore has been recovered from the Office of Information and Broadcasting in Rajasthan.

According to a government announcement, a large number of employees in the administrative secretariat and department offices continue to work in the same position and division, which undermines the administration’s credibility and transparency.

The notification stated, “Therefore, it is being directed that the tenure of one officer in a particular position should be a maximum of three years and in special cases, five years,” to retain trust in the administration.

Additionally, SPs in eight districts and IGs of two ranges were also changed.

According to sources, M L Chauhan, joint secretary in the Higher Education Department, has been transferred as additional director general of the Rajasthan Institute of Public Administration, while Agriculture Commissioner Kana Ram has been appointed director (secondary education) Bikaner.

Gaurav Agarwal has been appointed Commissioner (Agriculture and Panchayati Raj) and is awaiting posting instructions. Along with other IAS officers, Pushpa Satyani, Utsav Kaushal, Devendra Kumar, and Akshay Godara have been transferred.

Similarly, Rajeev Sharma, an IPS officer, has been appointed Director General of Police (Law and Order). He oversaw the Rajasthan Police Academy as its director.

DG of Training Janga Srinivas Rao was promoted to DG of Community Policing and Human Rights. SPs and the Inspector General (IG) of the police forces in Ajmer and Bharatpur police ranges and SPs of Bhiwadi, Udaipur, Karauli, Jhunjhunu, Jalore, Bharatpur, Jaisalmer, Sirohi were among those transferred.
