Manish Sisodia will be presented in court on March 21 for the next hearing on bail plea in Delhi excise duty case. The Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi has reserved the ED’s plea for seeking Sisodia’s custody for interrogation in the Delhi excise duty case. The update came after Manish Sisodia was presented in Delhi Court today after he was arrested by ED in Tihar Jail after hours of questioning in the case.

Senior Advocate Dayan Krishnan, who was appearing for Manish Sisodia, opposed the ED’s plea seeking Sisodia’s custody for 10 days. Although, the court has reserved an order on the same and the bail plea now will be heard on March 21.

Judicial Custody Of Manish Sisodia Extended Till March 20 In Excise Duty Case

Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi has extended the judicial custody of Former Deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia in excise duty case. It has been extended till March 20 now. He was taken to court today after the end of CBI remand. According to the information, Sisodia was today taken to the Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. The investigation agency arrested him pertaining to alleges irregularities in the framing and implementation of the excise policy of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Manish Sisodia’s CBI Custody Ends Today, To Be Presented In Court

Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s CBI custody ends today, he will be produced in the court today following his arrest in the Delhi Excise duty case. Following the arrest on February 28, he resigned from his post. On March 4, the bail plea of Sisodia got rejected by the Rouse Court Avenue and he the CBI remand got extended for another 2 days. Today, Sisodia will be presented in the court as his CBI custody ends today. The court also issued the notice to the CBI on bail moved by Sisodia and listed the matter for hearing on March 10.

Following Sisodia’s arrest he was sent to CBI’s custody for 5 days, which on Saturday was extended for another two days. Special Judge MK Nagpal granted the central agency his custody. For keeping him in custody, his lawyer said in the court that the custody will serve no fruitful purpose, as recoveries have been made, he also called this the inefficiency of the agencies to complete the probe.

Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has requested for the bail yesterday in the High Court, after it was junked by Supreme Court, who asked him to approach the lower court before appealing in the top court. Now, the Rouse Avenue Court has rejected the bail plea and next hearing will be on March 10. According to sources, CBI has asked for 3-day remand of Manish Sisodia. However, court has approved the 2-day CBI custody in the case.

Manish Sisodia To Be Presented In High Court Today In Excise Duty Case

Manish Sisodia to be presented in Delhi High Court today, against the charges in Excise duty case. Sisodia filed the regular bail plea in the court yesterday, after the Supreme Court junked his plea saying that he should first appeal the lower court for all the remedies and follow the procedures. The former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. He will be produced in the Rouse Avenue District Court after the expiry of the custodial remand, according to the sources.

However, Sisodia has denied all the charges against him. According to the sources, he will be produced in the court today, by noon. The CBI is already filed a charge-sheet against seven people and they all are set to file the supplementary charge-sheet in the case.

Apart for this, Sisodia was also confronted with the statement who turned approver against him and recorded his statement under section 164 of CrPC.

According to the sources, in the month of January, the probe agencies seized the computer from the Sisodia’s office. And they learnt that the files and the other data is been deleted from the same. They also sent the computer to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for recovering the deleted files.

A day after the arrest, Sisodia resigned from the post of Deputy Chief Minister along with AAP’s former Health minister Satyendra Jain, who is already in jail from last few months, also resigned from his post.

CBI alleges that Manish Sisodia has played the crucial role in Delhi excise duty case. The sources claim that they will further seek the custodial remand for Manish Sisodia in the case.

Sisodia Filed Regular Bail Plea In Delhi High Court

Aam Aadmi Party’s Manish Sisodia files the regular bail plea in liquor case before Delhi High Court after Supreme Court junked plea. Earlier, February 28, the Supreme Court of India refused to entertain his plea against the arrest by CBI. The top court asked him to move to Delhi High Court regarding this. The team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested him on February 26, in connection with the allegations of irregularities in the formulation and implementation in excise policy case. On Monday, a special court has granted CBI five days remand of Manish Sisodia for interrogation in the case.

After his arrest last week, Sisodia also resigned from the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi. After Supreme Court refused to intervene in the matter Sisodia moved to the lower court. Before approaching the Supreme Court, he was asked to pursue with the legal remedies before approaching the highest court of India.

After his arrest the chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “Manish is innocent. His arrest is dirty politics. There is a lot of anger among people on Manish’s arrest. People are watching. People understand everything. People will respond to it. This will increase our spirits. Our struggle will get stronger.” He also said that CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is taking all the steps to destroy them in any possible way and planning conspiracy against them.

Sisodia, who was holding the excise and education portfolio in Delhi government, resigned on Tuesday, after Supreme Court rejected to intervene in his plea. At the time of resignation, Sisodia was holding the 18 of 11 departments of Delhi government.

The arrest of Manish Sisodia has been aggressively criticised by the Aam Aadmi Party and other opposition party leaders. Aam Aadmi Party and Sisodia firmly rejected all the allegations made against them in the case, claiming that it shows the BJP’s fear because of their growing influence before elections.
