A 27-year-old man was found dead with severe neck injuries in a house in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar on Wednesday. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Alfaf Washim who was a resident of Jamia Nagar.

The Police received the news of a dead person in the house located on the second floor of Batla House in Jamia Nagar shortly after which crime teams from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and local police reached the spot.

“Both the crime teams from FSL Rohini and the local police have visited the crime scene. The deceased has cut marks on the neck,” said a senior police official.

After careful inspection of the body, deep injuries were found on the neck of the deceased. For further clues CCTV footage is being checked, said the police.

“The cause of death will be ascertained after post-mortem examination. Further investigation in the matter is in progress,” the police added.

Moreover, according to the statements of the relatives, police said the deceased had left his home around 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

Murder in Bhajanpura

In another such incident, a man was killed and another injured in North Delhi’s Bhajanpura area after unknown assailants opened fire at them on Tuesday.

The deceased, identified as Harpreet Gill was a resident of the Bhajanpura area, police said. On the other hand, the injured, identified as Govind Singh is currently under treatment at the Lok Nayak Hospital (LNJP), the police said.

As per police reports, the two were traveling on a motorbike near Subhash Vihar in the Bhajanpura when the assailants intercepted them. The assailants then open-fired at them and feld the spot.

A case was registered in connection with the incident and an investigation is underway, police said.
