2023 Heavenly Holi: Mathura Painted In The Colours Of Bliss

This year the Holi celebration in Lord Krishna’s kingdom hit the roof as usual. Devotees filled drenched in Abir-Gulal as much as their devotion to little Kanha. Every temple ground of Lord Krishna was brimming with joyful devotees, radiating the very meaning of the Lord’s childhood. Cheerful, carefree, and exuberant. 

Joy and fun in Gokul

As the Lord grew up in Gokul as the mischievous “Kanha,” the celebration here involves a Holi stick. The whole of Gokul, from the temples through the streets, was filled with dancing people with their holi sticks, doles, and flowers. Thus, the celebration of Lathmar Holi begins. From Nand Bhavan Nandhkila temple, the Dole Marg starts along with the forms of Lord Krishna and Balram to the Murlidhar Ghat.

Devotees in Bliss

The celebration starts with performing aarti to the Lord. After the aarti comes the fun part of playing with the Abir-Gulal. The devotees and people worldwide were addicted to the intense fun of colouring each other and dancing in the name of Lord Krishna with a completely open mind and heart.

The Rasiya 

Songs on Lord Krishna, the rasiya, roll along, and the devotees and all other people happily rejoiced by dancing to it, expressing their devotion and carefree playfulness just like the little Lord. The energy here became infinite as the Lord of the Skies gave his participation in the form of a drizzle.

Intoxicated in exuberance 

The Holi celebration starts in the morning after the aarthi around nine and leads till the Rajbhog, which is in the afternoon. With non-stop Abir-Gulal, Rasiya, and reminiscing Lord Krishna’s childhood. As the temple door opens again in the evening, the fun resumes with an aarthi to the Lord with the same intense energy.

Every year this fantastic festival of colours is celebrated all over India. Holi is a festival that brings devotees, people from other countries, and everybody together for a week of absolute blissfulness in the name of Lord Krishna.
