22 people, including a corporator, have been accused of infringing upon 75,132 square feet of LDA land worth over INR 50 crore in Gudambas Bahadurpur village. The land is located on Kanchana Bihari Marg and is registered in the urban sealing in the revenue records. Shops, private hospitals, and pucca houses were built illegally on the land. The encroachers were identified as Nanha Yadav, Raju Yadav, Dilip Yadav, Gokaran Yadav, Ramsagar, Devdutt Singh, Abida Khatoon, Pankaj Mishra, Mahendra Pal Verma, Indrapal Verma, Jagannath Sahu, Bablu Kumar, Chandrabhan Verma, Rohit Singh, Hussain Siddiqui Abrar, Kanhaiyalal, Kuldeep Singh, Neelam Chowdhary, Mohd. Jaffer, Dr Naeem Ahmed, owner of Omega Hospital, Pakanj Yadav and Mustkeen.Report by Lekhpal and Tehsil Sadars RevenueThe Authority got the sealing of Lekhpal, Tehsil Sadars revenue, investigated after getting the information about its possession. The report was submitted in November last year, after which the land was marked. The investigation revealed that many people, including the councillor Pankaj Yadav, had illegally built houses and shops on the ground. Ramsagar, who is said to be close to the councillor, had made a garbage godown.Delay in ActionSurprisingly, despite the land being encroached upon for 15 years, the LDA officials still needed to learn about it. This raises a big question on the involvement of the officers and employees of the Authority.Case RegistrationThe case was registered on February 25 on the complaint of Amin Vimlesh Shukla after three months of investigation by the Authority and Tehsil Sadars team. Inspector-in-charge Gudamba Alok Rai has confirmed that a case has been registered against the encroachers. The investigation is being processed, and the authorities are trying to gather evidence to solve the case as soon as possible. The encroachment of LDA land worth over INR 50 crore in Gudambas Bahadurpur village is a serious issue. Surprisingly, the land was illegally occupied for 15 years without the LDA officials knowing about it. The case registration against the encroachers is a step in the right direction to reclaim the public land.
