In Amritsar, the Counter Intelligence has recovered almost 15 kilograms of heroin valued ₹7 lakh and arrested seven drug traffickers, said Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav.Reportedly, the contraband was being smuggled across the border from Pakistan using drones, he said.Heroin worth ₹7 lakh seized in AmritsarThe drugs seized were valued ₹7 lakh in the international market. During the crackdown, two cars have also been seized from the accused, said the DGP.Following the crackdown, an FIR has been lodged at the State Special Operation Cell in Amritsar.Taking it to X (formerly known as Twitter), DGP Punjab Police said, “Big Blow to Trans-Border narcotic smuggling networks: Counter Intelligence, Amritsar has busted a major drug cartel and seized 15 Kg Heroin after arresting 7 drug traffickers.
