The latest chapter in their reign of supremacy progressed at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), where they dismantled Pakistan in the New Year's Test and concluded the series with a 3-0 clean sweep.

The triumph propelled Australia to claim the No.1 spot on the World Test Championship standings. With 56.25 percentage points, the Aussies stand tall at the summit, leaving India with 54.16 percentage points in second place.

Australia sweeps Test series vs Pak

While Pakistan bowlers threatened at times, ultimately, it was Australia's superior firepower that shone through. In the Sydney Test, Pakistan posted a defendable of 313 in their first inning helped by half-centuries from Mohammad Rizwan, Agha Salman, and the unlikely hero Aamer Jamal from the No.9 position. Jamal continued his impressive performance with a six-wicket haul to restrict Australia to 299, which gave Pakistan a lead of 14-run lead. Despite a decent lead with impressive bowling, Pakistan's second innings crumbled dramatically.

Facing the relentless Australian bowling attack, Pakistan could only manage to post 115, with Saim Ayub's 33 the lone resistance. Josh Hazlewood ripped through the innings with his devastating spell of 4/16 coupled with Nathan Lyon's 3/36. Chasing a mere target of 130, Australia eased to victory in under 26 overs, with the help of half-centuries from David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne.
